S2 Episode 7 - Gold Is Where You Find it

The last five weeks in the mountains have been tough on two hard luck drifters, who are hunting for gold. You know there's a problem for Ernie (Forrest Tucker) and Wally (Larry Storch) trying to live in the wilderness when they don't know the difference between a porcupine and a skunk. It sure seems like every scheme they get into goes haywire, from the silver mine, brass mine, and copper mine, to the guy that sold them the "sure thing" gold map for their last $10.00; you think they would have learned something. Mad Jack (Denver Pyle) returns from the settlement with supplies and when the two drifters spot the bulging saddlebags on Number Seven's back, they decide to investigate. Well, you can't tell them that the bags are filled with corn meal not gold, and that Mad Jack is not a prospector. Ernie and Wally are so frightened when they see Ben that they hang out over a cliff until Adams (Dan Haggerty) can luckily rescue them.

dams can see that they have no food or supplies so he invites them to the cabin. Ernie and Wally notice that Mad Jack is there so they make plans to steal the saddlebags. When they realize that they were going to steal corn meal they just about gave up. However, they see a shiny rock and, not knowing it is only fool's gold, they're off on a fortune hunt again. Like everything else, of course, their gold balloon busted in their faces.

Finally sick of chasing around the countryside after a fast buck and fool's gold, they decide to take Adams advice and try working for money. Wally and Ernie start up the Rainbow Freight Company and haul supplies into the settlement. They found their pot of gold was at the end of the rainbow; all it took was a little hard work to find it.
